Acne Treatment

At Invercargill Skin Centre, we offer medical acne assessment and treatment, focusing on understanding what’s driving your acne and creating a plan that supports long-term skin health, not just short-term fixes. Beauty therapy based treatments and products may work for some, but others may require a medical approach.

Acne is a common medical skin condition that can affect people at any age. For some, it’s a short-term concern, but for others, it can be persistent, uncomfortable and significantly impact confidence.

What acne treatment involves.

Acne treatment starts with a thorough consultation to understand:

  • Your skin type and concerns

  • How long acne has been present

  • Previous treatments you’ve tried

  • Lifestyle, hormonal and medical factors that may be contributing

From there, we develop an individualised treatment plan that may include:

  • Medical therapies appropriate to your acne type and severity

  • Advice on skincare routines and product selection

  • Ongoing review and adjustment of treatment as your skin responds

Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor progress, address side effects, and refine treatment over time. Acne management is often a process, and having consistent medical support can make a significant difference.
